Enterprise secure file sharing
A good fit for conventional enterprise secure sync, encrypted cloud storage, folder collaboration, and business file-sharing programs.
Tresorit is built for secure enterprise file sharing. PhotonFile is built for teams and individuals who need secure file operations without turning every contractor, reviewer, client, or collaborator into another paid seat. Use Relay for live delivery, Vault for encrypted retention, Secure Inbox for isolated intake, and Vault-scoped access when people should only see one work domain.
A good fit for conventional enterprise secure sync, encrypted cloud storage, folder collaboration, and business file-sharing programs.
Better when contractor access, no per-seat team billing inside eligible workspaces, live secure file transfer, and Vault boundaries matter more than another seat-metered cloud folder.
Relay moves now. Photon Vault keeps encrypted files available. Secure Inbox collects from outsiders. Vault Sync maps work domains to local folders.
The seat-tax problem
Traditional enterprise cloud platforms often scale cost by user. PhotonFile Teams are different: eligible team workspaces run under the team owner's plan. Invite teammates, contractors, or collaborators without turning every additional person into another paid seat. Pro includes 1 team up to 25 members. Studio includes unlimited teams and unlimited members. Members can still use PhotonFile outside the team under their own limits, and team creation is reserved for eligible plans.
Vault access
In PhotonFile, team membership does not automatically open every team Vault. People can be invited into a shared team context, but Vault access is granted intentionally, Vault by Vault. Invite the contractor without handing them the house.
Siloed sovereignty
PhotonFile Vaults are encrypted work domains. Use one Vault for a contractor drop, another for corporate finance, another for client delivery, and another for retained project storage. Access, sharing, Secure Inbox intake, and desktop sync should be reasoned about at the Vault boundary.
| Operational pain | Tresorit-style enterprise cloud | PhotonFile |
|---|---|---|
| Adding contractors | More users can mean more billing complexity. | Eligible teams run under the owner's plan. |
| Contractor visibility | Managed through shared folders and permissions. | Grant access to one Vault domain, not the whole operating context. |
| Large one-off send | Storage and share workflow. | Relay or File Pass for live delivery. |
| External intake | File request or shared-folder-style workflow. | Secure Inbox ingress into a Vault. |
| Local sync | Legacy cloud-folder sync model. | Sync by Vault to separate local folders. |
| Region operations | Enterprise data residency options. | Documented Account Region Move workflow. |
Tresorit remains a good fit for organizations already standardized around enterprise encrypted file sharing and conventional secure sync administration.
PhotonFile is the better fit when collaboration cost, workflow separation, and Vault-level isolation matter more than adopting another legacy cloud-drive workspace.
PhotonFile gives you the enterprise privacy posture without forcing every workflow into another seat-metered cloud folder.
